Every week, the price of gas fluctuates, going up and down. And now, as the week starts, they are back up in Florida.
According to AAA and fuel-monitoring firm GasBuddy, petrol prices increased by roughly 10 cents per gallon throughout Florida and 4 cents in South Florida on Monday, August 11. In the Miami area, prices are roughly 34 1/2 cents lower than they were a year ago and 2 1/2 cents more than they were a month ago.
“For nearly a year, Florida gas prices have been in the same 26-cent range,” stated Mark Jenkins, AAA-The Auto Club Group spokesman. “Until there is a substantial shift in oil prices or a major disruption — such as a hurricane — impacts the supply chain, prices at the pump will continue to move in that range.”
In many parts of Florida, gas prices remain below $3 per gallon. Gas prices in North Florida are still the lowest in the state. Palm Beach County and Naples are two of the priciest counties. Here are some things to consider when traveling or commuting in Florida:

Professional opinion:
▪ Patrick De Haan, head of petroleum analysis at GasBuddy: “Oil prices dropped below $64 per barrel last week, allowing prices to ease in most states, and the national average price of gasoline saw a slight decline after rising for two consecutive weeks. Price-cycling markets once again showed the biggest weekly fluctuations; Florida and Michigan saw upward cycles, while Indiana and Ohio suffered steep drops but should see increases this week. We’ll be keeping a careful eye on supplies and prices as Labor Day draws closer because projections indicate ideal conditions for tropical development as hurricane season approaches its peak.
