Orlando, Florida – As Christmas approaches, a lot of individuals will be traveling to spend the holidays with family.
However, for those who are driving, it can be a lengthy drive due to the Sunshine State’s hundreds of miles of freeways.
Additionally, it could be tempting to take a few winks on longer travels because there are more than 60 rest spots spread out around the state, along with eight Turnpike plazas and four welcome centers.
The crucial point, though, is whether you are indeed permitted to do it.
Florida rest areas are a terrific place to take a snooze because almost all of them are open around-the-clock.
However, cars are only permitted to park for a maximum of three hours per the Florida Administrative Code. As a result, drivers may be able to take a quick nap, but it won’t replace a full night’s rest.
However, that number is increased to 10 hours for commercial drivers, which may be helpful for their frequently lengthier trips.
In any case, people are reassured by FDOT authorities that Florida’s rest zones have nightly protection, making drivers feel safer if they choose to use these locations to take a short nap.
You will, however, be limited to other activities at this time because the picnic grounds at these rest spots are closed at night.
