With nine new destinations scheduled to arrive at the Fort Lauderdale airport beginning in November, JetBlue Airways is the most recent ultra-low-cost carrier to increase its footprint in South Florida.

In a statement released on September 10, JetBlue’s vice president of network planning and airline partnerships, Dave Jehn, stated, “As the top airline in Fort Lauderdale, with more departures than any other carrier on peak travel days, JetBlue is proud to keep raising the bar for customers in South Florida and to continue bringing them to the places they want to go.”

The announcement coincides with Spirit, another low-cost carrier located in Dania Beach, removing 11 locations from its network in an attempt to concentrate on important areas, like its Fort Lauderdale hub. Other airlines have jumped in after Spirit recently declared bankruptcy for the second time in a year. Days later, Frontier Airlines announced 42 new routes, many of which were in South Florida.

In addition to New Orleans and Pittsburgh, JetBlue’s new flights now fly to Aruba, Grand Cayman, St. Maarten, Honduras, Costa Rica, and other places. Additionally, there is a trip to Cali, Colombia, the airline’s newest destination.

Additionally, the airline plans to expand service on nine current routes.

JetBlue is offering one-way prices starting at $113 from Fort Lauderdale to any of the 46 nonstop destinations it will service this autumn in celebration of the expected 113 peak daily flights the airline said it will be operating from Fort Lauderdale by winter.

For travel from September 24 to December 17, 2025, reservations must be made before September 10. Travel only on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays; certain ban dates may apply.

JetBlue’s service in South Florida is growing.

Although JetBlue left Miami International Airport as of September 3 owing to poor performance, the airline has been working to expand in South Florida.

JetBlue announced new flights from FLL to Guayaquil, Ecuador, and Philadelphia in April. In July, the airline added flights to Atlanta, Austin, Norfolk, and Tampa. Travelers may now book a plane and train ticket straight on jetblue.com as part of a combination itinerary thanks to a June partnership between JetBlue and Brightline, a privately held passenger rail service in Florida.

Additionally, after almost seven years away, JetBlue has announced that it will be returning to Daytona Beach.
